Food Pantry Distribution Saturday!

The CARE Package Food Pantry will distribute food this coming Saturday from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. If you would like to volunteer your time please be at the church at 7:30 a.m.

West Alabama Leadership Prayer Breakfast

Pastor Ron had the privilige of attending the West Alabama Leadership Prayer Breakfast with Harold Terry and Jerry Wright. We were guest of the Tuscaloosa Credit Union. The special speaker for the event was Fox News anchor Brit Hume. It was a very inspiring morning as the presence of the Lord filled the room.

Easter Sunday

CCC experienced a great Easter Sunday Celebration. Approximately 160 people were in attendance. The Praise Team presented a mini-musical entilted, Jesus Is Alive, and the Drama Team (Revived) performed Behold the Lamb. It was a great day that was filled with the presence of God. Special thanks to James, Tyler, Martin, Jonathan and Billy for presenting the Crucifixion Scene early Sunday morning. Several people stopped by to take pictures, talk and pray.

May the resurrected Savior bring new life and light to your path. We, at CCC, wish you the happiest Easter holiday. Today's sermon is found in Philippians 2: 5 - 11:

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man. He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to tht eglory of God the Father.

This morning's message is entitled, He Willingly! Because He willingly laid down His life, we have full assurance of salvation today. His sacrifice on the cross was the instrument of redemption for all mankind. It stands as a testimony, today, of the wondrous beauty of God's grace.

The great Charles Spurgeon use to advise young ministers in this manner: No matter what text you take immediately cut cross the country to the cross and begin there. The cross is the strength of the minister and I would not be without it for the world. I would feel like a soldier without his weapons or a laborer without his tools; like an artist without a pencil or a pilot without a compass. let others preach the law and preach morality; let others preach about sacrament and preach the church --- BUT GIVE ME THE CROSS. Let me preach the cross, let me glory in the cross. This is the only lever that has ever turned the world upside down and made men forsake their sins.

Easter Egg Hunt Brings Record Crowd!

173 people were in attendance for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. The children had a great time coloring and hunting eggs. Special thanks to Teresa Crawford and her staff for putting together a great event. Close to 40 teenagers helped hide eggs and then participated in a scavenger hunt. It was a tremendous day at CCC!

Good Friday Easter Scene

CCC celebrated Good Friday with a modern-day crucifixion scene. Special thanks to James Warren, Martin Bastille and Gary Warren for presenting the Gospel message in visual form. They spent an hour and a half on the cross as people made their way home from work. Several cars stopped to observe the depiction of Christ's Passion.

The CARE Package

The CARE Package Food Pantry will be distributing food on Saturday, April 18th from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. If you would like to help with the distribution, please be at the church at 7:30 a.m. The CARE Package Team will be bagging groceries this coming Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Please help us by volunteering your time.

Softball Practice

Softball practice will take place, today, at 5:30 p.m. at the Eastwood Middle School softball field. The first game will be Tuesday evening, April 14th. The time of the game will be announced this week. Come out and support your church team. You'll have loads of fun.

If My People

Tonight's Bible study will continue the theme, If My People! There was a cartoon several years ago in the Saturday Review of Literature in which little George Washington is standing with an axe in his hand. Before him lying on the ground is the famous cherry tree. He has already made his smug admission that he did it -- after all, he "cannot tell a lie." But his father is standing there exasperated saying, "All right, so you admit it! You always admit it! The question is, when are you going to stop doing it."

God calls for His people to humble themselves, repent of their sins, and turn from wickedness. The end result is that He Will Heal Our Land. It is only as we get control over our desires and refuse to allow our pride to be in control of our lives that we can find strength from God to live for Him. It is only then that we can have peace too.) When I humble myself, I kneel before my Maker allowing Him to do whatever He wants in my life. I come before Him as a weak human who humbly admits that left to myself, I will fall and be destroyed.

Jesus Is Alive Celebration!

CCC will celebrate the Resurrection this coming Sunday morning with a special presentation by the Praise Team entitled, Jesus Is Alive. The newly formed drama team will perform the song, Behold the Lamb and we anticipate a great time of God's manifest presence. The service will conclude with the observance of Communion.

Easter Egg Hunt

CCC's Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m. There will be special prizes, along with refreshments, served to everyone. Come and join us for this wonderful celebration.

Prayer Request

Former Pastor's wife, Terri Ledbetter, has been in the hospital with artery blockage. Please keep her in your prayers.
