Extraordinary Women's Conference 2009

Ladies from CCC attended the Extraordinary Women's Conference at the BJCC in Birmingham, AL this past weekend. Over 4000 ladies were present and the sessions were outstanding. This is the second year that our ladies attended this meeting. We thank God for everyone involved in planning this annual event.

Historical Society Meeting

The 8th Annual Meeting of the Historical Society of Church of God Movements is scheduled for 9:30 AM Thursday, May 28, 2009. It will be held at the Lupton Library on the campus of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We hope you will be able to join us.Membership is open.This year's theme focuses on a discussion of serpent handling in the southern Appalachia region, and Dr. Ralph Hood from UTC will be our guest speaker. Dr. Hood has co-authored a book on the subject with Dr. Paul Williamson.

Antique Car Show

The 2nd Annual Car Show will be Saturday, May 30th. Entry fee is any donation to the VBS fund. There will be door prizes and awards given. We will also be selling barbeque and burgers for the days event. Join us from 10:00 until 2:00 p.m. for this special event.

Food Pantry

The CARE Package will distribute food on May 16th from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. If you would like to help please be at the church by 7:30 a.m.

Wonderful Revival!

CCC experienced a wonderful revival with Evangelist Chuckie Chandlar from South Carolina. The Lord blessed us tremendously. Our drama team, REVIVED, ministered nightly and the altars were filled with people seeking for more of God's grace in their lives. The presence of the Lord was manifested in numerous ways during every service. To God Be The Glory!

People With A Vision!

Sunday's message will be entitled, People With A Vision! About 350 years ago a shipload of travelers landed on the northeast coast of America. The first year they established a town site. The next year they elected a town government. The third year the town government planned to build a road five miles westward into the wilderness. In the fourth year the people tried to impeach their town government because they thought it was a waste of public funds to build a road five miles westward into a wilderness. Who needed to go there anyway? Here were people who had the vision to see three thousand miles across an ocean and overcome great hardships to get there. But in just a few years they were not able to see even five miles out of town. They had lost their pioneering vision. With a clear vision of what we can become in Christ, no ocean of difficulty is too great. Without it, we rarely move beyond our current boundaries.

Outreach Ministry

The CCC Outreach Ministry Team distributed 232 Gospel packets to the Lynnhaven and Summerfield subdivisions. Special thanks to Dot Hicks, Faye Smith, Harold Terry, Brenda Ikner, Ken & Becca Pinkerton and Pamela Martin for their untiring effort. Pastor Ron spent the morning serving as shuttle driver and route coordinator. We pray that many souls will find a deep and enduring relationship with Christ from this team's effort. Next month we plan to target 2 apartment complexes.

Peacemakers

Tonight's Adult Bible study deals with the subject of Peacemakers from Matthew 5:9.
The idea of peace dominates the Bible. There are four hundred references to peace in the Bible. It opens with peace in the Garden of Eden and closes with peace in the new heavens and new earth. In fact, a study of redemptive history could be made from the standpoint of peace. Man’s sin interrupted our peace with God. At the cross, Christ became our peace. Because Jesus has provided peace, there can be peace in the heart of one who comes to know Him. One day, Jesus will come again and will establish an eternal kingdom of peace.

Living By Grace

Sunday's message was entitled, Living By Grace. The Sermon was based on Paul's writings in 2 Timothy 2: 1 - 13.

I can remember the exact moment when I first realized that I was truly an adult. It wasn’t my 18th birthday. It wasn’t when I finally moved out from home at 25 and got married. I first realized I was an adult when I was 28 years old, and I still remember the day. It happened on Father’s Day, June 17, 1984 when I held my newborn son in my arms. As I looked at that helpless little baby, I realized that there was no turning back, that I was responsible for this life. For the first time I realized that I was totally responsible for another person’s life. My life would never be the same again. Every risk I took, every impulsive decision I made, every unwise dollar I spent would effect this little person’s life.

As Paul reflects back on his own life and the legacy he’s leaving, he gives young Timothy some important advice about how to live a life that’s built to last.

1. Find Strength (2 Tim 2:1)

2. Multiply Your Influence (2 Tim 2:2)

3. Be Willing to Pay the Price (2 Tim 2:3-7)

4. Center Your Life In Christ (2 Tim 2:8-10)

5. Don’t Give Up (2 Tim 2:11-13)

If you want to build a relationship with God that will last you must Live By His Grace everyday.

The CARE Package Food Pantry distributed food to 95 families this past Saturday morning. There were 27 new families who came for assistance. We ask that you join us in prayer for these families that God will bless them and raise them up. Many of the families have recently lost their jobs. We believe that God can provide great things for them and re-establish their employment opportunities.

A special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this ministry. Our Easter offering was almost $450.00.
